What We Do
Embark Music Lessons services the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
We bring music lessons to homes and therapy centers, specifically designed for autistic and special needs children, taught by musicians who are also current or former trained RBTs, BTs, BCBAs, and other special-needs therapists. While we do NOT offer therapy services, we fill a much needed gap that exists by giving our autistic and special needs students a lesson environment and curriculum that comes from a place of understanding, experience, and knowledge about this community.

The Embark name and the anchor logo hold a significant meaning for us.
Each of us is on our own incredible journey. Our students are no exception. Together, we support each other while we each Embark on our own journeys.
The anchor is an interesting metaphor. Anchors keep us grounded and secure when things are difficult. Anchors are also what we must pull up and bring with us when its time to move forward. It is our hope to provide your family --using the avenue of music-- with support and skills to help you feel grounded when things are difficult. It is that same support and skills your child will take with them as they move forward through their lives and Embark on their own journeys.
Embark's Founder
Embark Music Lessons was founded by Melodie Palacios, a passionate music teacher with 25 years of experience and a proud mother to a son with autism.
As her son grew older and became eager to explore activities, Melodie noticed a significant gap in services tailored specifically for the autistic community. Opportunities for activities, especially in the performing arts, were scarce, and often in environments that proved challenging for our kids. She also found many teachers were hesitant to work with the special needs population, or struggled to adapt their teaching methods to meet each child's unique needs
Inspired to make a difference, Melodie set out to bridge this gap by offering personalized music lessons in students' homes and therapy centers, while also training musicians with a background in therapy to effectively teach music to students of all abilities.
